Rare opportunity for an engineer that is ready to level up.
We are looking for an Associate Principal Engineer (APE) to join our team.
As a Principal position within the company this is an equity offer.
Who we are:
At DMA Engineering, we are committed to environmental stewardship by providing creative and efficient solutions for residential and commercial buildings. We are champions of electric heating and radiant systems, and we challenge the norms to deliver solutions with the highest impact. Our projects vary from luxury homes, new building net-zero designs and commercial building retro-commissioning, to industrial heating and cooling for occupant comfort and processes. Our engineering tools and design techniques range from practical experience to sophisticated computer modeling. While we are fast-paced and work hard to deliver outstanding results for our clients, we also value our time to play in the outdoors and have structured our working hours and location to accommodate an active lifestyle. Being an active part of our community is important to us and we plan activities and givebacks throughout the year to demonstrate this commitment. We’re international, founder run, and we’re passionate about making a difference.
This role:
As this is an equity position, hard work, low pay, a general lack of appreciation for the work you do is to be expected. This position is for someone ready to own their impact - translating the vision to strategy through execution. You want to integrate immediately into a leadership role and be a leader in defining quarterly objectives, based upon DMA’s long-term vision and goals. More importantly you can drive these objectives to fruition. You’re curious and look for solutions, answers, and efficiencies, knowing you’re a critical strategic partner. You’re a rare type - you’re an engineer who’s tired of working through bureaucratic systems in a cubicle and wants to step into a role where your ideas and contributions are felt directly by the client. You know that green engineering is the future, and you’re ready to prove it.
This position leads the production side of the company:
- Managing multiple projects in various stages of project life cycle
- Developing and expanding on SOPs
- Managing resources, timelines, budgets, and customer requests
- Engineering work, from energy modeling, design to writing a commissioning plan
- Capacity and capability to do the engineering cradle to grave, know how to offload engineering tasks to others (on DMA team or subcontractors),
- Strong project manager and excellent at client relations
You’re driven to do more:
More than just table stakes, you have demonstrated that you are willing to stand out by having more than just a Professional Engineer license. You have an advanced degree or have earned certificates through a professional organization. Demonstrated that you are willing to learn new skills and topics, curious about all things and willing to venture into new areas. You know how to communicate with a team and are invested in seeing people succeed and grow. You respond well to a task driven environment where there are big goals and know how to nurture a team and drive them to execute. You thrive in an in-person environment where there’s direct collaboration.
Did this pique your interest? Ready for a new challenge, create something of your own. Tired of the BS you’re dealing with?
