Job Title: Beekeeper
Job Summary:
Join our team as a Beekeeper and play a vital role in the care and management of our bee colonies. As a Beekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and productivity of our bees, ensuring the production of high-quality honey, and contributing to the overall success of our apiary operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of bee colonies to assess health and productivity
- Monitor and maintain beehives to prevent disease and pests
- Harvest honey and other hive products following industry standards
- Assist in the transportation of bees to different locations for pollination purposes
- Build and repair beehives as needed
- Educate others on beekeeping practices and the importance of bees in agriculture
Experience:
- Prior experience in beekeeping or related field preferred
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation for hive maintenance
- Proficiency in basic math for hive measurements and calculations
- Experience in animal handling, particularly with bees
- Familiarity with growing practices, garden maintenance, equine care, and irrigation techniques
- Ability to use power tools for hive construction and repairs
- Background in farm operations or greenhouse management is a plus
