Modular Building Systems International (MBSI) is seeking a talented and driven Special Projects Site Superintendent to join our federally certified woman-owned small business enterprise and disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE-WOSBE). This role will play a pivotal part in expanding our footprint and solidifying our position as the go-to choice for sustainable, efficient, and high-quality building solutions. Over the past 25 years, MBSI has been an industry leader through a bilateral focus in selling large custom modular projects along with delivering an upscale mobile office leased fleet. We are looking for a skilled site superintendent that is customer-centric and results-oriented to oversee the entire on-site construction process to MBSI’s standard operating practices.
This is a travel-oriented role. MBSI concentrates business in Central Florida, however projects may extend to additional regions in the Southeast. Anticipated Central Florida travel – 80%.
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and supervise all on-site activities for projects including but not limited to: crew management, task delegation, and progress monitoring. Expected hours: 7am-5pm
· Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
· Understanding of both project and company financial goals, prioritizing quality while managing costs both to customer and to MBSI.
· Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and a commitment to excellence.
· Build and maintain stong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, local authorities and team members.
· Coordinate effectively with subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building system installations
· Read and adhere to blueprints and specifications to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
· Adhere to strict quality control protocols, proactively identifying and troubleshooting on-site issues,
· Inspect all trade and subcontractors work to ensure compliance with contract documents and engineered drawings.
· Analyze worker and production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
· Prepare purchase and work orders for all scheduled projects; assign work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.
· Determine materials required for each project and devise delivery schedules to ensure they are available when needed.
· Manage and negotiate materials with the correct supplier for all scheduled projects.
· Create and update pricing with all projects to ensure accurate cost tracking.
· Oversee quality control and project documentation including daily reports, photos, project files and timely correspondence.
· Record information such as personnel, production, and operational data on specified forms, reports and logistics plans ensuring they have proper approval from required parties such as the customer or direct supervisors.
· Oversee and enforce safety and HAA program including orientation, badging and housekeeping of site/building.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years of in-field experience in a supervisory role within construction. Modular construction preferred.
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
· Demonstrated understanding of modular construction principles, assembly processes, and best practices for quality control.
· Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Executive presence, possessing the ability to interface with high level members of customer base.
· Highly proficient at multitasking with unsurpassed organizational skills.
· Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and a proven track record of maintaining a safe work environment.
· Valid driver's license.
