We're seeking a Transportation Business Line Manager to join our team to spearhead business development efforts and bolster our presence in State and Municipal Transportation markets within Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in strategic planning sessions to set sales goals and objectives, aligning them with the company's overall mission and vision.
- Help create a specific growth strategy for transportation in Massachusetts.
- Establish and maintain client relationships, supporting technical staff in doing the same.
- Identify project opportunities and develop client and opportunity plans.
- Assist in proposal development and participate in client interviews.
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies to promote the Transportation Department's services and expertise.
- Engage in industry associations, seminars, and networking events.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Transportation Department, encouraging creativity, learning, and professional development among team members.
- Lead project teams in planning, execution, and delivery of transportation projects.
- Mentor staff and identify training and technology needs.
- Assist in identifying staffing needs and recruitment efforts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on transportation-related issues, providing guidance and insights to clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree; P.E. MA preferred
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Transportation Design with a focus on Highway or Bridge Projects
- Previous experience with MassDOT and MBTA preferred
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing large-scale transportation projects from initiation to completion
- Experience in negotiating contracts, scopes of work, and project budgets
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Team player that is adaptable to changing needs
- Outgoing and comfortable with client and partner networking
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
This position will be based in either our Boston or Quincy, MA office, but you have the flexibility to work remotely. Fuss & O’Neill encourages a hybrid workplace, allowing you to create your career and future from your preferred location.
