As a High School Math Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in Grades 9 to 12. You will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment, fostering students' intellectual curiosity, and preparing them for success in their future endeavors. This position requires a passion for education, subject expertise, effective communication skills, and the ability to connect with and support diverse groups of students.
Develop lessons plans, instructional materials, and assessments to support student learning. Create positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, cooperation, and active participation among students. Maintain discipline and ensure a safe learning environment for all students.
Deliver high quality instruction using various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. Facilitate discussions, present lectures, conduct group activities, and encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Evaluate students' academic performance regularly through tests, quizzes, projects, and assignments. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents about their progress and areas for improvement.
Submit grades and attendance records on time.
Identify and address the unique learning needs of students.
Offer extra help, tutoring, or special accommodations as necessary for students with learning challenges or gifted abilities.
Utilize Power School technology effectively to enhance the learning experience, promote digital literacy, and prepare students for a technology-driven world.
Establish and maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.
Encourage and support students' participation in extracurricular activities, such as clubs, sports, or academic competitions, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.
Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff members, and administrators to share best practices, align teaching strategies, and contribute to school-wide initiaves.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Education or math. A Master's degree is preferred.
Valid teaching certification or license for the appropriate grade levels and subject.
Strong subject matter expertise and passion for the subject taught.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their academic and personal goals. Patience, empathy, and understanding to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Organizational skills and attention to detail for lesson planning and record keeping. Adaptability and willingness to embrace new teaching methods and technologies.
Commitment to professional growth and continuyous learning.
Knowledge of Tohono O'odham/American Indian culture and history is preferred. Education or closely related field or work experience related to Tohono O'odham/American Indian culture and history is preferred.

Valid IVP card and FBI fingerprint background check (at employee's expense).
Teaching Certifications
Copies of Bachelor and/or Master Degrees.
AED/CPR card.
