Midwest Transit Equipment, Inc. seeks a Full Time Service Writer for our Swansea, IL location.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a Service Writer to initiate automotive services and repairs as requested by the customers. The Service Writer will have a general knowledge of the automotive industry. This is an hourly position with the possibility for overtime.
Duties and Requirements:
- Answering customer phone calls and meeting with them in person.
- Assigning work orders to technicians
- Prepare written estimates for service work and parts
- Act as liaison between customers, manufacturers, and technicians
- Properly document all work orders
- Input all work orders in computer system
- Track service work orders from start to finish
- Preform timely follow up communication with the customer
- Communicate effectively with technicians
- Ensure timely completion of work orders
- Responsible for invoice submission
- Keeps updated on all warranty policies and product changes to maintain effectiveness in this role.
- Coordinate new, used bus process
Minimum Requirements:
- A plus: Experience in the Medium / Heavy Duty truck, automotive industry.
- High degree of product and technical knowledge.
- Maintains a professional appearance and a safe, clean work environment.
- Must be a team player with a strong sense of commitment to the customer.
- Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and applications.
- Good organizational skills with emphasis on follow up items and attention to detail
- Be able to move buses and obtain a CDL
- Good working knowledge of internal service, sales and parts policies and procedures.
