Position Summary:
As a Carrier Procurement Representative, your role will involve delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. You will also work closely with carriers and colleagues to find solutions to any issues that arise. Our team provides the necessary support and resources to help you thrive in your role and build a meaningful career.
Essential Functions:

Be the primary point of accountability for carriers strategically matching, negotiating, and booking available equipment with available freight for transactional and dedicated lane opportunities.

Apply a strategic sales approach to foster positive relationships with trucking company key contacts. Resolving problems and expanding industry knowledge.

Leverage logistics and other technology platforms to make informed decisions, negotiate prices, and drive automation.

Work closely with operations to prioritize customer service and provide the best carrier for the company's safety and integrity.

Ensure shipment details are accurately communicated at the point of sale.

Understand transportation-related market conditions and use knowledge to impact buying decisions.

Understand Sheers products and services and live by sheers values daily.

Continually pursue new carrier acquisition through cold-calling, researching and lead generation.
Education and/or Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

2 plus years of experience building and maintaining client relationships
-
2 plus years building carrier relationships and/or booking loads
-
Experience in executing across multiple modes of transportation (LTL, Volume, Truckload, Partial, Intermodal, and Expedited).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong work ethic and persistence combined with patience and a positive attitude.

Ability to understand instructions and guidelines to perform required tasks.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Transportation Management Software.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize.

Demonstrated effectiveness in both written and verbal communication skills.

Strong customer service background and ability to quickly build rapport with carriers.

Demonstrates timely and efficient follow-through.

Thrive in a team environment, collaborating and aiding whenever needed.

Demonstrated experience to be dynamic and adaptable.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle a fast-paced environment.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Bilingual preferred but not required.
Compensation: $50,000 to $65,000 annual base plus commission

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
