CLOSING TODDLER TEACHER | Part Time (11a-6:15p)
Job Summary:
The Closing Assistant Toddler Teacher will spend the first two hours giving breaks to teachers. Then they will assist an experienced Lead Teacher with a class of ten children and help with the end of day closing duties. The children stay in the classroom for a full school year, August-July, and start the year as 1-year-olds and end as 2-year-olds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will be guided by and collaborate with your Lead Teacher to implement the day-to-day
- You will help implement lessons created by the Lead and Assitant Teacher using Creative Curriculum on a classroom iPad
- You will assist in teaching children through planned lessons, intentional play, modeling, and teachable moments.
- You will oversee a nurturing and organized classroom environment using routines and classroom management techniques such as positive redirection, proper tone of voice, and engaging transitions.
- You will maintain a clean classroom through routine duties such as vacuuming, sweeping, sanitizing, cleaning toys, organizing, taking out trash, disinfecting restroom area, and cleaning as you go.
- You will create a safe environment through active supervision, following emergency protocol, removing hazards, administering first aid, setting boundaries and preventative practices.
- You will tend to children’s sleep, feeding, and diapering needs using state safety guidelines.
- You will individualize potty training as kids turn 2 years old and indicate they are ready.
- You will explore the outdoors with our children for at least two hours every day.
- You willbe responsible for completing new hire training and attending monthly Kiddos meetings.
- You will communicate with families in person and using the ProCare app.
- You will close the classroom each day preparing it for the next morning
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Expertise in communication with families, team members and our children
- Use consistent good judgment
- Be able to take guidance from a classroom leader
- Function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
- Physically able to move around, sit on the floor, lift children, go up and down stairs
- Complete Required New Hire Training including initial Orientation and within the first 60 days complete Health and Safety Training, CPR/First Aid and Kiddos Workbook
