TYLER’S is searching for someone to assist a team of buyers with day to day operations and potentially becoming a part of a buying team. This buyer's assistant will help the assigned team with much of the administrative side of buying. Please see below for details on tasks. This position will be heavily focused on the admin side of buying, with an opportunity to learn more buying tasks including creating orders and managing any brands assigned to them. The successful candidate for this position must have a minimum of 3 years buying experience preferably, and a strong understanding of the retail industry. Possessing knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Google docs, and Retail Pro is highly recommended.

Job Responsibilities & Duties
Assist the assigned team with day to day operations, including running reports, entering UPC codes, and entering orders on B2B sites.
Assist the team in entering purchase orders into retail pro.
Assist the team with entering markdowns and price changes and the communication associated with those tasks.
Obtaining and ensuring UPC codes are entered into Retail Pro and communicated to the web team via the proper channels.
Assist in sidewalk sales and store remodels and any other buying team related business.
Assist the assigned team by selecting merchandise, writing purchase orders and managing inventory.
Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels through markdowns and fill orders.
Ensure deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders and report any issues or backorders.
Run and review reports for the management of inventory for brands that are assigned to you.
Keep up communication with stores about new brands, markdowns and anything that relates to the lines you manage.
Ensuring purchase orders are submitted in a timely manner in order to secure the best prices/discounts/terms.
Buyer Qualifications And Skills
A minimum of 3 years of buying experience.
Bachelor's Degree
Strong negotiating skills
Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms (B2B sites)
Impeccable attention to detail
Ability to work well with a team
Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
