Pacific West Systems, Inc. is seeking a full-time Heavy Duty Equipment Service Advisor to support a small team of industry leading technicians. This is great opportunity for an experienced heavy equipment technician to transition to a desk job if they have strong computer, communication and organization skills to schedule and organize the team.
Major Responsibilities:
- Heavy equipment repair estimating
- Interface with customers to schedule PM's and normal repairs
- Ability to understand repairs and time needed for Quoting system
- Understanding of Heavy equipment repairs and troubleshooting
- Management experience is a Must
- Plan and schedule workflow priorities daily for all mechanics
- Open all Work Orders and segments
- Direct customer contact to preliminary diagnosis and schedule repairs
- Provides some training for new shop employees
- Communicate with management on shop repairs and maintenance schedules
- Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.
- Manages vehicle, fork lifts, compressors and other shop machine maintenance schedules and reports
- Must be able to respond to after hours support calls for customer breakdowns
- Identify warrantable repairs and follow procedure for parts and repairs
- Understanding of electrical system repairs – Know basic pneumatic, and electrical hydraulics
- Thorough understanding and practical knowledge of cooling system maintenance and repairs
- Rental fleet service management
- Responsible for OSHA & safety training and compliance
- Manage service truck fleet
Compensation:
- $75K - $90K compensation package depending on experience

Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Strong Leadership and Management Skills
- Must have detailed knowledge of mechanical shop
- 5 years (min) of diesel experience required
- Possesses solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates awareness of health and safety protocols
- Oversee safety program
- Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
- Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials), OEM training courses, ASE
- Perform vehicle diagnostics
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A valid California driver’s license is required
- Clean driving record required
- Must be able to pass background screening
- Ability to pass drug test upon hire and additional/frequent on-going drug tests
- Must have a Positive attitude, willingness and ability to grow in position
- Computer skills necessary for data MS Office and entry into maintenance systems.
- Regular full attendance is a MUST. Ability to work overtime during the week and weekends is essential
- Willingness to travel - work at shop or varying client locations is required (overnight stays are required as business dictates)
Physical Requirements:
- Good verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- While performing the duties of this job, the manager may be required to stand, walk, crawl, lay and sit. Technicians are frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms and work in closed spaces. Visual and hand dexterity is necessary
- The manager must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg.
