POSITION: RN – ICU
HOURS: Full-Time Night Shift
JOB SUMMARY
· Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors and personnel. Recognizes special neurological needs of geriatric patient such as confusion and implements appropriate nursing interventions. Assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning and implementation of the plan of care is family-centered, age appropriate and culturally relevant, and individualized to the patient needs.
· Knowledge of critical care diagnostic and treatment techniques such as chest tube insertion, central line placement, intubation, and hemodynamic monitoring, preferable. Collaborate with members of the multi – disciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementation and evaluating health care delivery
· Specialized skill in maintaining, operating, and monitoring complex equipment such as mechanical ventilators, cardiac monitors, and hemodynamic pressure monitoring devices, etc.Initiate treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on appropriate utilization of hospital and nationally accepted protocols
· Properly administers medication, oral, parenteral, intravenous; able to calculate specific dosages and mix medicated, vasoactive drips.
· Collaborates with other members of health care team with consideration to arrange
for short term as well as long term and post discharge needs of all patients.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current license in the State of Tennessee.
Licensure: Current license issued by the Tennessee State Board of Nursing.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience as charge/staff nurse. Up to one (1) year of on the job training and experience is normally required for satisfactory performance of this job. Shall have completed a Critical Coronary Care Course or be in the process of taking the course. Shall be capable of defibrillating and accurately interpreting rhythm strips, shall have knowledge with telemetry monitoring; ACLS certified.
