Job Summary:
Perform daily routine set-ups, operations, and monitoring at an intermediate level for both CNC mills and lathes and inspection of parts produced in 3, 4 and 5 axis machines. To maintain KPI 90% efficiencies hold tolerances of .0005 and surface finishes. Maintain a track record of high-quality work at all times. fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Success Factors:
· Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine operating procedures and have knowledge of the manufacturing sequences and machining methods required. Full understanding of principles and rules interpreting symbols, dimensioning and tolerances.
· Operate equipment at a rate that equals or exceeds quality and efficiency standards as noted on the traveler. Keeping up with KPI’s. Strong experience and knowledge of CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.
· Monitor cutting tools in machine spindle and notify supervisor of tool wear and/or tolerance problems. Make necessary machine adjustments to feeds and speeds to correct improper function, out of tolerance part, or poor visual part.
· Maintain precise product counts while maintaining proper inspection including visual of all parts.
· Change and touch off cutting tools; adjust coolant direction according to required machining sequence or to measure for conformance to blueprint specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
· Notifies supervisor of any potential machine or tool problems and malfunctions or out-of-tolerance product. Cleans machine tools and parts.
· Maintains work area in a clean, safe, or lean 5S specification this includes outside of machine and 10 minutes before end of shift empty chips and check coolant.
· Communicates with team members and supervisors to problem solve, instruct, and receive instructions and coordinate activities.
· Responsible for proper use, operation and care of all tools, tooling, and inspection equipment. Must adhere to company policy and procedures.
· Thorough inspection (visual and mechanical) of parts as specified by Inspection Plan and/or Blueprint.
· Set-up CNC Mills and Lathes with 1st article inspection. Includes boring jaws, reviewing and verifying program and blueprints, ability to maintain close tolerances (withing .0005”) and install and indicate all tools accurately, indicate fixtures and make offsets, and tool offsets. Use of Marposs probing & Co-Bots
Qualifications:
· Knowledge of HAAS and Doosan mills and lathes.
· 3+ years’ experience operating with set-up CNC mill/CNC lathe (Haas) (Doosan)
· Proven skilled us of feeds and speeds in production machining
· Strong Knowledge of blueprint planning sheets and inspection tools
· Strong math skills including geometry and precise part counting
· Organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
· Ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment.
· Fluent in English with the ability to communicate technical instructions

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Math Ability:
Strong math skills add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Experience with Geometry and Trigonometry
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills/knowledge required.

No certifications needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Ability to train Level I machinist a must.
