JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for taking an output from Mechanical Engineering to assembly sub-assemblies and machines complete from start to shipping. Lead other Mechanical assemblers to successfully complete the assigned project. Ability to identify and provide solutions to engineering issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work from samples, complex drawings, blueprints, customer installation prints, work orders, engineering specification sheets, job instructions, and layouts to perform mechanical assembly on all company products including prototype machines

Proceed with assignments with minimum supervision and instruction to meet or exceed routed hours while maintaining the required quality and production standards.

High degree of mechanical aptitude and knowledge of design and mechanical principles

Fit, align, and adjust assembly components to complete assemblies

Layout, bend, and install piping or hosing and perform secondary machining such as drilling, reaming, tapping, grinding, ext.

Use a variety of precision measuring instruments

Instruct or train other mechanical assemblers or service techs as requested

Ensure that finished product is properly prepared for shipment

Recommend changes to improve efficiency and reduce costs

Assists in keeping facility and equipment clean, neat, and safe

Comply with all established policy and safety guidelines in a drug-free workplace

MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent
-
5 or more years of mechanical assembly experience
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures.

Ability to organize, prioritize and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed changing environment.

Mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Must be able to perform metric conversions.

Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers and dial indicators.

Strong attention to detail required.

Clear communication skills and ability to work with others.

Basic computer skills.
