City Sprouts Preschool is a small emergent curriculum, Reggio Emilia inspired preschool in the Outer Sunset with 2 mixed age classrooms- our preschool class of 18 2.5-5 year olds, and our toddler class of 8 1.5-3 year olds. We are open from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Our school is looking for another highly qualified teacher to work alongside our amazing close knit community of teachers and staff. City Sprouts Preschool provides children the opportunities to explore and challenge themselves while in a safe and nurturing environment with an emphasis on nature. We support each child as their own unique individual, while providing a loving and collaborative community to create strong bonds and friendships. We believe that play is the most valuable aspect in early childhood. Play facilitates growth in all areas of social, emotional, and physical development, as well as setting a foundation for future academic learning, while encouraging use of a child’s imagination and curiosity. We encourage open-ended and self-directed play, giving children the ability to choose what interests them, and it is our job as teachers to observe, guide and scaffold those interests.
