We are looking for a qualified Lab Technician to join our Houston office! This position requires practical understanding of high pressure/high temperature testing combined with a broad understanding of engineering principles and materials (metal, rubber, plastics).
Responsibilities
- Work safely in all environments
- Work independently, as well as with a team
- Perform specification testing per our internal or customer’s standards
- Maintain supplies in lab
- Work safely with large, heavy objects such as BOPs and pressure vessels up to 30,000 psi, gas boosters, ceramic band heaters and PLC system
- Assemble test vessels and set up test fixtures including high pressure plumbing
- Physical exertion is required such as lifting, use of impact tools, prying open of fixtures
- Willingness to learn
- Handling fork lift up to 10,000 lbs capacity
- Some flexibility in schedule due to testing protocols
- Maintaining clean work areas
- Visual and dimensional inspection of test fixtures and seals
- Setup and run qualification tests based on internal and external procedures
- Ability to bend, cone, and thread medium and high pressure tubing
- Play an active role in performing risk assessments on tasks and test procedures
Skills
- High School Diploma/GED
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word) as well as basic math skills
- CAD and Labview knowledge would be beneficial
Preference may be given to candidates experienced in fork truck operations, rigging, and transporting large objects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
