Human Resources Generalist w/ Payroll Duties
Mindcare Solutions is a leading provider of behavioral health services to long-term care communities, hospitals, emergency departments and outpatient clinics. We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist with Payroll Duties to work in our Medina, OH office (remote). This position will assist our HR Manager to propel our organization forward as a whole.
Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and direct deposit details.
- Handle payroll discrepancies, respond to employee inquiries, and resolve payroll issues promptly.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports and filings in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure proper payroll funding and reconciliation
Human Resources Duties:
- Assist in onboarding new employees.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Maintain HR records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support performance management processes, including performance reviews and employee development plans.
- Assist with employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, updating HR policies and procedures as needed.
Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Ensure payroll compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations across the U.S.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and workers' compensation requirements.
- Handle payroll tax setup and adjustments for various states, including state unemployment insurance and other state-specific requirements.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and reporting, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with state laws.
HR Administration:
- Coordinate HR projects and initiatives to improve employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support management decisions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Support the HR Manager in various HR tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in HR with a focus on payroll processing and compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems. - Strong knowledge of Paychex Flex a plus
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax setups, and workers' compensation laws.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and HRIS systems.
- Compliance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and workers' compensation across the U.S.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze payroll data and generate reports.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to handle payroll and HR issues.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
