we are looking for some one with a flexible schedule to cover call outs and vacations
POSITION OVERVIEW
Under direction of the Member Services Supervisor, Member Services staff is primarily responsible for providing courteous and accurate information to current and prospective members. Greets participants, answers phone, researches and resolves customer complaints, enters data, provides clerical support to all program departments and displays a positive attitude to YMCA participants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provides current information to participants and the public regarding fees, times and dates of all YMCA programs.
- Answers phones promptly and courteously
- Keeps customer service area safe, clean, and attractive.
- Complete a daily walk through of the reception area and complete a check list.
- Communicates with participants, vendors, and staff in a positive manner.
- Enrolls new members, registers participants for programs and collects fees.
- Adheres to YMCA dress code, and standards of conduct Represents the YMCA in a professional manner.
- Data entry, Filing, records keeping.
- Monitor, copy, and distribute rack cards, forms, and brochures.
- Reconcile, update print, and distribute program rosters.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
- Assist in preparation and set ups for all meetings.
- Assist on special projects as needed and assigned.
- Schedule and maintain rentals and contracts as well as collecting fees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote, and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers.
- Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
- Must posses a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year experience in customer service preferred.
- Experience in cash handling preferred.
Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities
- Basic computer skills required.
- Experience with Microsoft office products and outlook required.
- Ability to handle cash transactions and basic math skills.
