Job Overview:
Ogden Sullivan Stover & Saar, P.A. has an excellent part-time or full-time employment opportunity in its Accounting and Billing Department in its Tampa, Florida office. The Accounting & Billing Specialist performs a variety of accounting and legal billing activities for the firm. This position will work along with the office administrator and will report to the managing shareholders.
Job type opportunities:
Full-time (40 hours/week): $50,000-65,000 or salary commensurate with experience.
Part-time (24 hours/week): $18/hour - $23/hour or pay commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
Accounts payable
- Supervising the entry of invoices
- Reviewing vendor statements
- Reviewing verification lists
- Supervising coding and entry of expenses and advanced costs
- Preparing checks for managing shareholders
- Reviewing cash disbursements for the month and ensuring all costs have been charged to the correct matter
Accounts receivable
- Executing, handling, and processing high volume of bills to include e-billing in timely manner
- Ensuring compliance with all client billing guidelines and firm guidelines
- Maintain and ensure proper client rates
- Preparing, processing, and recording deposits and debits and comparing fees on the income statement to fees collected in the receipt allocation report
- Review of delinquent receivables to include through e-billing platforms and follow-up with clients
- Resolving billing discrepancies
- Submitting appeals on invoices
- Researching and answering accounting and billing questions from clients
Finances
- Bank and trust account reconciliations
- Follow-up on outstanding checks
- Prepare reports and summaries on financials and productivity
- Ensuring balance sheet and income statement are accurate
- Undertaking special projects as needed and requested

Requirements and skills
- Law office experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, or a related field or comparable experience
- Tabs3 proficiency required
- Aderant Total Office proficiency (f/k/a Client Profiles) preferred
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Team-oriented approach
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
- Daily in-person attendance required whether part-time or full-time
