BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Old Testament and the New Testament as sacred Scriptures.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Director of Baseball Operations is to support the staff and administration of DBU Baseball and DBU Athletics and strengthen connections between DBU and the community, supporters, alumni and business affiliates while providing for the day-to-day operations of Patriot Baseball, DBU's only NCAA Division I program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Director of Baseball Operations should be a person who possesses skill, knowledge, and personality providing leadership and administrative oversight at the NCAA Division I level.
- The Director of Baseball Operations must be innovative, budget conscious, system driven, and have a working knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations, industry standards, and program development.
- The Director of Baseball Operations must possess strong communication skills – both written and verbal – and must be able to handle simultaneous responsibilities across differing and various platforms.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- In coordination with the assigned DBU Sport Administrator, provide direct oversight to the day-to-day operations of Patriot Baseball, the institutions only NCAA Division I program. This includes, but is not limited to, facility oversight of Joan and Andy Horner Ballpark, outside group rentals of Horner Ballpark, team and individual travel, equipment purchase and inventory, and other tasks as assigned by the baseball Head Coach or Sport Administrator.
- In coordination with the DBU Sport Administrator and Head Baseball Coach, provide oversight and adherence to the DBU Baseball operating budget.
- In coordination with the DBU Sport Administrator and Head Baseball Coach, provide oversight and adherence to agreed upon DBU equipment and apparel contracts.
- In coordination with the Associate AD/Compliance officer and the Head Baseball Coach, ensure that Patriot Baseball is following all NCAA Division I rules.
- Assist, as needed and assigned by the DBU Sport Administrator or Head Baseball Coach, with any event that promotes or markets DBU Baseball or DBU Athletics.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The Director of Baseball Operations will work 40 hours per week with variations to the normal working hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with the need to work nights and weekends, as well as all home games and away games.
