The Clinical Trials Network (CTNx) is a trial management company that oversees a network of private practice clinical research sites with a unique approach to streamlining the administrative, regulatory, and compliance aspects of conducting clinical trials. Our network spans the United States, operating in ten unique specialty divisions: Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Neurology/Psychiatry, Women’s Health, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and Allergy/Immunology with plans to expand in the coming years. We strive to advance medicine through partnering with pharmaceutical companies to expedite new treatment options to market.
Responsibilities:
The Controller position is accountable for CTNx’s accounting operations. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the CTNx's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller will provide the newly onboarded sites advice and guidance regarding financial and administrative policies and procedures. Because all these functions are directly related to the vision of The Clinical Trials Network (CTNx) this position will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Assignment of departments may change over time as CTNx is still in its start-up phase, or during times of absence or restructuring. In addition, this position will work closely with the department directors and managers to ensure all projects and activities are in alignment with contractual and institutional budgetary limits.
1. Management
- Creates, maintains and enforces CTNx’s documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the operations of CTNx’s financial department, including structure, hiring, training, and department's goals and objectives
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
- Manages CTNx’s Financial relationship with Sponsors, CROs, and Clients
2. Transactions
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner such as Clients, Sponsors, Vendors, etc.
- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly from Sponsors, CROs, Clients, etc
- Process payroll in a timely manner and categorized by Client
- Ensure that monthly bank reconciliations are completed
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
3. Reporting
- Issue monthly and complete financial statements to CTNx Leadership Team and its Clients
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to CTNx’s Leadership Team
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
4. Compliance
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit such as Sponsors, CROs, or Clients
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree and five years (minimum) of related accounting, managerial, and administrative experience.
· Combinations of related education and experience may be considered
· Must have experience with Quickbooks Online
· Experience with Corporate Budgeting and Forecasting.
· Must be self-directed with demonstrated ability to work in collaboration and cooperation with members of a multidisciplinary team.
· Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Strong organizational and multitasking skills including the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
