Purpose of Role: The weld repairer is responsible for identifying and correct casting defect utilizing the MIG welding process. They uses MII’s to ensure proper weld settings and materials are used. Additionally, they have variety of tasks as job conditions permit including but not limited to: structural welding of consumable parts, arcing defects, arcing consumable parts from rigging, etc

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance: Using MII specifications to ensure quality product
Defect identification: Identifying defects that may or may not be marked by inspection
Repairing defects: Repairing defects that may or may not be marked by inspection
Using jib hoist: Utilizing jib hoist to maneuver castings weighing from 100 pounds to 1200 pounds
Information recording: Recording information on tally sheets and pitch boards.
Forklift operation: Operating forklift while loading and unloading work stations
Safety Completion: Working safely to complete the assigned task
Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
Minimum score on Work Keys test may be required (HR will determine)
Experience none required (3 years welding experience preferred)
Certifications/Licenses: Acceptable scores of Work Keys Test; Mobile Equipment license must be obtained before start date; successful completion of Weld Certification as per MII requirement in 90 days.
Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Good reading, writing, mathematical, computer, and verbal skills.
