The Olympic Club, a private member athletic and country club in San Francisco, seeks a Golf Shop Retail Assistant. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City.
The Olympic Club offers employees free golf on Mondays at our Lakeside campus and a variety of sports and social events for employees throughout the year.
Position Overview:
Part-time / non-exempt position. Reports to the Buyer/Merchandising Manager. Assist members and guests with merchandise and answer basic club-information questions. High-profile customer service position. Frequent use of a computer-based point-of-sale system. Detail-orientated and organized to assist with monthly inventory needs and member inquiries of merchandise. Must be available Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9am – 5pm.
Essential functions and responsibilities:

Assist with daily shipment/deliveries (unbox, tag, organize)

Daily replenishment of apparel, footwear and accessories (size, fold, organize)

Daily housekeeping (dust fixtures and tables)

Maintain Golf Shop presentation standards which match The Olympic Club’s reputation and image through displays, inventory replenishment and basic merchandising, etc.

Provide product knowledge and brand awareness training to shop staff to better drive sales

Participate in promotional events, trunk shows and sales incentives at both campuses (Lakeside and City Clubhouse). Assist with merchandising in City Clubhouse’s Sport Shop if requested

Assists members and guests with merchandise selection, upselling, etc.

Assist members with online sales, special orders/returns, etc.

Accepts, inspects, and places incoming merchandise. Conduct monthly inventory of all merchandise

Regular attendance is required based on business expectations and needs

Able and willing to work flexible hours including daytimes, evenings, weekends and early mornings
Qualifications Required:

Retail and customer service experience

Strong organizational skills to maintain backroom inventory

High School diploma or GED equivalent
-
2 years previous experience in retail, merchandising or closely related position

Intermediate computer skills

Previous experience working with POS and purchasing systems in a retail environment
