Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting comprehensive assessments of patients' abilities and limitations.
- Support the development and implementation of individualized therapy plans to address specific conditions and enhance function.
- Provide direct therapy services to clients in individual and group settings under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on techniques to improve function and prevent injury.
- Monitor patients' progress and assist in adjusting therapy plans as needed to promote optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Accurately document patient care and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families to promote well-being and coping strategies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of quality improvement initiatives.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Qualifications:
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of CA.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience as a COTA, preferably in a similar setting.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- Valid CA Driver’s license.
