POSITION SUMMARY
Coordinate with all staff and performs troubleshooting on systems and administer every day activities of the PACS system. Install and provide support for all organizational workstations and monitor all complex application administration, perform testing and recommend changes to improve functionality of PACS systems. Analyze user processes and ensure optimal utilization and provide end user support at all times.
Monitor all tasks and resolve all issues related to PACS applications and associated equipment, and perform troubleshooting on all moderate and complex issues then provide appropriate feedback. Maintain knowledge on all PACS systems, workflow processes and monitor all logs for error in applications.
Analyze and design various user access applications and ensure data security then ensure effective configuration changes to all applications. Oversee all tests on systems and ensure effective implementation of all test process, analyze results and recommend upgrades or changes to avoid any issues. Ensure compliance to standard operating procedures, federal, state and HIPAA for all applications and equipment. Monitor all system performance and ensure maintenance of all quality control programs. Provide training to all new users for all PACS systems while verifying all user workflow tasks are completed correctly. Perform troubleshoot on systems and resolve all hardware and network issues.

Reports To: PACS Coordinator, Assistant Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Director of Diagnostic Imaging.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Education: Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Work Experience: 3 years
- Required Licenses/Certifications: None
- Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Extensive computer knowledge
- Preferred Qualification: CIIP - Certified Imaging Informatics Professional.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment, and requires extensive time viewing computer information. This position also requires lifting (50 lbs. or less), bending and carrying out tasks in small paces. The individual must be able to concentrate on several objectives simultaneously with frequent interruptions. He/she must be team oriented and be able to work with a wide range of personalities and education levels.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTION

- Works with vendors and IS staff to troubleshoot problems with hardware, software applications, system and end user access.
- Monitors and supports voice recognition system daily.
- Ensures digital image quality standards and post-processing parameters are maximized for the best clinical results.
- Performs application software training, customize software for various users and takes appropriate action to ensure PACS system security as it relates to patient information.
- Assists in the sending and receiving of PACS DICOM images, DICOM Modality Worklist and all DICOM conformance guidelines.
- Coordinates training and provides ongoing daily support to users of the PACS Systems.
- Answers questions from all Clinical staff concerning PACS and related imaging systems including the Radiology Information System.
- Develops instructional materials for displaying images at diagnostic, clinical and acquisition workstations.
- Maintains manuals, reference books, documentation and/or software instructions associated with the programs and systems used in the Imaging Departments.
- Prepares Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and software instructions for all system users.
- Develops appropriate contingency plans and executes plan to ensure continuous patient care in case of emergency.
- Collaborates with Imaging Teams to prepare documentation of the organizations imaging, hardware and network systems.
- Modifies and prepares basic copies of system documents and guides to assist end users in the basic operation of imaging systems within the department.
- Provides help with creating and updating all department Policy and Procedures.
- Assist with department reports, faxes and all RIS (EMR) support, daily maintenance and upgrade testing.
- Security is a major priority and must be up held in the highest standard. Continuous monitoring suspicious activity, patch upgrades for vulnerabilities on all departmental diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Works with Billing Dept. for Rejections- account numbers incorrect billing codes, etc.
- Obtain revised orders
- Building exams in Cerner RAD module-communicating new exams to IT and Scheduling dept.
- Training newly hired techs on PACS techs workflow
- Create generic surgery report, Verify surgeon reports in PACS
- Adding Technologists/Radiologists in Cerner
- Help in supervision of PACS System Analyst I
