Partners in Prevention is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency headquartered in Secaucus, NJ. Our mission is to improve wellness and prevent substance use disorders and related health challenges in Hudson County and New Jersey. The Lindsey Meyer Teen Institute, a program of Partners in Prevention, is a youth leadership organization whose mission is to guide young people to realize their leadership potential and become empowered to create positive change in themselves, their schools, and their communities.
As our new Bilingual LMTI Program Coordinator, you will join a team of enthusiastic and skilled prevention professionals working to provide young people with training and opportunities to become strong leaders. Using your strong interpersonal skills and creative flair, you will work with young people, families, educators, and public health professionals to provide mental health resources and training in Hudson County and all across the state of New Jersey. You will also have the opportunity to lead and facilitate games, activities, and meaningful discussions around mental health and leadership. In this role, you get to:
- Oversee and lead mental health, substance use awareness and prevention activities, training, and events for youth
- Create engaging custom content and programming
- Lead community outreach and recruitment efforts
- Assist the LMTI supervisor with preparation and submission of grant reports
- Support and collaborate with community partners and schools all over the state of New Jersey
- Attend trainings and workshops to increase prevention knowledge and skills, and remain current and informed of changing trends
- Learn, develop, and lead games, icebreakers, and other team-building activities!
This job might be for you if:
- You have a bachelor’s degree in education, public health, or a related human services field. Bonus points for a master’s degree or your Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) certification
- Are fully fluent and bilingual in Spanish
- You have strong people skills and are interested in networking and building relationships
- You work well both independently and as part of a team, take initiative, and produce work you can be proud of
- You are an effective communicator who can not only lead and inform but can listen and operationalize feedback from others
- You are highly creative and love learning new and exciting ways to engage groups
- You are a proactive problem-solver who sees problems as opportunities
- You are comfortable working in a variety of settings, including schools, community centers, offices, athletic fields, and parks
- You are comfortable using technology and have a strong aptitude for Google apps, Canva, Zoom, and social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
- You have experience discussing or working with topics such as mental health, mindfulness, substance abuse prevention, leadership, and reducing stigma
