CHILD DEVELOPMENT PERMIT REQUIRED: A Valid Associate-level Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, or a Valid CDA credential with the appropriate age-level endorsement is acceptable.

EDUCATION: Minimum of twelve college-level semester Early Childhood Education (ECE) or equivalent quarter units in child growth and development, human growth and development, child, family, and community, and program/curriculum;

At least six months of Early Childhood classroom experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program with children ages 0-5 years old.

Experience working with diverse populations and low-income families is desirable.

Ability to read and write English, interpret documents, and communicate effectively. Have basic mathematical skills.

Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).

Deep understanding and ability to articulate the role equity, inclusion, and diversity plays in our work.

Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards is highly desirable, including Lesson Planning, Creative Curriculum, Mighty Minutes, Ages and Stages Questionnaire, DRDP Assessments.

Pediatric First Aid and Infant/Child CPR certification or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment.

Successful completion of an employment background/criminal check and live scan fingerprinting clearance.

Employment physical and proof of immunization record (MMR and TDAP vaccines).

Proof of absence of tuberculosis.

Proof of educational degree(s), licenses, permit(s), or credentials pertinent to the position are required.
