Job Description:
NY metropolitan area based union benefit funds is seeking a Fund Manager.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience managing and administering collectively bargained union benefit plans and a working knowledge of laws related to ERISA, HIPPA, PPA, ACA, etc. in addition to the proven ability to manage an office of 15 plus employees.
Position requires in-person interaction with office staff with future hybrid possibilities.
Basic Function:
Supervise and manage daily operation of the Welfare, Pension, and Annuity Funds.
Must have in-depth knowledge of laws and or procedures related to the following areas of responsibility:
- Maintain records for various IRS Qualified Trust Funds;
- Prepare communications for meetings with plan providers, plan professionals, government agencies and plan participants;
- Prepare agenda and present written and verbal reports for all Boards of Trustees and Committee meetings;
- Prepare and present annual and periodic reports required by the Department of Labor, IRS and other related government agencies;
- Keep abreast of procedures and developments related to collective bargaining agreements, benefits plans, legal, accounting, and insurance program changes;
- Conduct employment interviews for clerical and technical staff. Perform personnel functions regarding wages, benefits and work schedules;
Required Skills:
- Administrative - record keeping, interviewing and supervising staff, file required informational and financial reporting to IRS and DOL.
- Technical - strong computer skills, Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Interpersonal skills, public speaking, strong written and oral communication skills a must.
- Education – College or Bachelor’s degree (preferred), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation (preferred)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
