Overview: The Commercial Lines Account Manager provides quality service to existing clients while effectively managing and growing a commercial lines book of business. This position involves building strong relationships with clients, cross-selling additional policies, and ensuring customer satisfaction to enhance client loyalty and maximize revenue for Shapiro.
This is a full-time position reporting to our office in Apopka, FL with the possibility to transition to a hybrid role.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs, addressing inquiries, and resolving concerns promptly and effectively.
- Proactively communicate with clients to ensure their expectations are met and to identify opportunities for additional coverage or policy adjustments.
- Manage both new and renewal accounts, evaluating risk exposure, determining appropriate coverages, and placing policies in alignment with client needs and underwriting guidelines.
- Update account information, process endorsements, and issue policies accurately and efficiently.
- Regularly review renewal and expiration reports, collaborating with team members to strategize the best course of action for each client account.
- Actively cross-sell additional policies to existing clients based on their evolving needs and risk profiles.
- Identify opportunities for upselling by offering relevant products such as flood coverage, business interruption coverage, umbrella policies, and other appropriate solutions.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and industry practices to assess risks effectively and recommend suitable coverage options to clients.
- Serve as a liaison between clients, Producers, underwriters, and agency management, facilitating smooth interactions and ensuring effective communication.
- Attend team huddles and weekly Tips & Tricks sessions to stay updated on industry trends, carrier changes, quoting procedures.
- Participate in continuing education classes to enhance knowledge and skills in the insurance field.
- Review and study carrier guidelines regularly to maintain a comprehensive understanding of product offerings and underwriting requirements.
Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a sales, account management, or customer service position.
- High School Diploma/GED or Associate Degree in Business Administration, or a similar field.
- Florida 2-20 Insurance License
- Experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry, specifically in commercial lines account management preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, or a similar field preferred.
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of commercial lines insurance products, including coverages, policies, procedures, and underwriting principles.
- Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding clients’ unique needs, and providing customized insurance solutions.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage daily responsibilities effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, combined with a persistent approach to achieving successful resolutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey information clearly and transparently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with in a team environment, sharing insights and contributing to collective success.
- Proficiency in using software systems, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, and Microsoft Office Suite.
