The Shift Lead will oversee morning, mid or night time shifts. Their functions will be to run daily shifts, open / close the store, train employees, and ensure the Salata Experience and Standards are always upheld 100%.
Job Responsibilities
The Shift Lead, a non-exempt management role, oversees the team members, the line, the dining room, the kitchen and the prep all in an effort to ensure a great Salata Experience for our guests in a clean restaurant! The Shift Lead is primarily responsible for completing the following responsibilities:
Completes Opening & Closing Manager Procedures
- Leads and/or performs the opening procedures and set-up and prepares the store to be guest-ready by opening at 10:45 am.
- Leads and/or performs the closing procedures to ensure a clean, thorough, and organized close is left for the opening team.
- Ensures that the team maintains clean and organized areas while working in an efficient, timely and safe manner.
- Manages the cleanliness of the facility to exceed Department of Health standards and Salata Corporate Audit standards while ensuring that it is aesthetically appealing.
- Takes the necessary steps to ensure that all equipment functions properly in order to provide the team with the tools they need to serve our guests to our high standards.
- Follows all end of day procedures at the end of shift.
- Secures the store and ensures the safety and security of the team at all times.
Leads, Trains and Develops the Team
- Trains, coaches and guides team members during the shift – ensuring that all communication, and procedural tools are being used and followed – in a continuous effort to achieve operational excellence, effective communication and uncommon hospitality every day on every shift.
- Manages and cultivates relationships with the team, the guests, and the vendors.
- Manages the team’s appearance and performance.
- Managers the freshness, rotation, and consistency of product throughout entire shift by training the team on safety procedures and accurate FIFO policies.
Manages and Drives the Shift
- Manages the shift to ensure the lowest possible line times while maintaining a full, fresh, and fluffy line.
- Manages shift labor to ensure proper staff utilization, proper employee breaks and overall labor efficiency during the shift.
- Manages and ensures that all cash handling and end of day reporting are reflected accurately.
Requirements
- Must be over the Age of 18
- Understands thoroughly and exemplifies the Salata Standards, Core Values, and Culture
- Well presented in demeanor, speech, and appearance
- Reliable transportation and proven history of reliability
- Within good standing and does not have any write-up in folder within the past 6 months
- If driving for the company, must have a current Driver’s License and Car Insurance or will not be permitted to run errands or deliver catering orders
- Open Availability, or full-time morning or night availability Monday through Saturday
- Has completed all Root Modules, including Observations and Tests
- Understands and can perform Hot Prep, Cold Prep, Store Set-Up, and Line Set-Up
