Job Description
Textile Rubber is a leading global manufacturer of adhesives and specialty chemicals has an immediate opening for a Material Handler for weekend shift drumming.
Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials and products within the warehouse and production areas. This role ensures the accurate and timely delivery of materials to support manufacturing operations and meets all safety and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receive, store, and distribute raw materials, chemicals, and finished products according to company standards and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, stock checks, and data entry into inventory management systems
- Safely load and unload materials from trucks, using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, condition, and compliance with documentation requirements
- Ensure all materials and products are properly labeled, documented, and stored according to company policies and regulatory guidelines
- Inspect materials for quality, report any discrepancies or damages, and coordinate with quality control teams to resolve issues
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse and production areas
- Keep all material handling equipment in the superb condition by noting and reporting any damage or malfunction and completing regular equipment inspections
- Performs other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds throughout an 8 hour shift
- Push, pull or roll 55 gallon containers frequently throughout an 8 hour shift
- Work in an uncontrolled environment where temperatures fluctuate based on the outside temperatures
- Wear respirator, self-contained breathing apparatus, and any other safety equipment required by the specific task being performed (as applicable)
Required Skills
- Ability to observe safety rules and practices and wear all safety-related equipment required by the specific task being performed
- Ability to work in an uncontrolled temperature environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to meet the physical requirement of the job
- License to operate a forklift
Required Experience
- High school diploma (or GED) preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
Shift:
- Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
- Overtime maybe required occasionally
Pay Range:
- $17.00 - $19.00 per hour based on experience
