We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Packaging Production Worker to join our team at Pearson Operations. As a Packaging Production Worker in our Printing department, they will be responsible for the movement, storage, and control of materials in a warehouse or distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Able to perform a variety of functions associated with the preparation, receipt, inspection, storage, issue, shipment and movement of material with a high level of accuracy.
- May operate forklift and/or other material handling equipment after successful completion of OSHA/Pearson training.
- Plan and carry out necessary activities to meet established schedules, often in a fast paced environment.
- Coordinate, track and monitor the un-loading and/or loading of shipments.
- Perform all duties in a safe manner, maintaining safety as highest priority.
- Follow established inventory control policies and procedures, while maintaining high levels of accuracy in inventory record keeping.
- Make operating adjustments to equipment as trained.
- Maintain logs and keep records as directed.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment to process materials or documents. Wear necessary protective clothing and equipment as required.
- Perform tasks involving the lifting and/or loading of materials.
- Maintain work area in neat, orderly, and safe manner.
- May perform higher classified work on occasional basis for training purposes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Support other departments as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and move pallets of material with a pallet jack as needed in routine department functions.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and push loaded carts of 650 lbs. Also frequent bending and twisting.
- Must be able to push and load 1200 lb. or heavier Roll forms around.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional situations requiring extreme caution.
- Environment with higher-than-normal noise levels and airborne dust particles, but maintained for safety and comfort.
