We are currently seeking candidates to fill the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) role in our Spencer MA location. The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA) uses their extensive business acumen to collaborate with all levels of the organization in making the best financial business decisions possible. Adopts, uses and leads with Lean management techniques. Is a standard bearer for continuous improvement in all facets of the organization. Leads Flexcon’s Planning and Forecasting processes and delivers superb business and financial analysis. Ensures financial controls are understood and followed. Delivers accurate financial reporting and analysis in a fast-paced environment. Develops staff through cross training, professional development and performance management.
What will you do in this role?
Planning and Forecasting: Ensures Flexcon North America has effective Financial Planning and Forecasting processes that provide accurate, forward-looking projections of revenue, expenses, earnings and cash flow. Responsibilities include: Timetable to complete the Annual Financial Plan and Monthly forecasting processes, related systems and processes, coaching of FPA staff, training of users, measurement of accuracy and implementing continuous improvement of the end to end processes.
Standard Reporting & Analysis: Supervise and deliver standard weekly, monthly quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis. Supports the accounting close by collaborating with accounting staff by delivering 100% accurate and on time schedules. Supports review of accounting variances as needed. Support Leadership with 100% accurate reporting and detailed variance explanation to Budget, Forecast and Prior period.
Financial Analysis: Deliver Financial Business Analysis of ROI, Product Profitability, make versus buy/material cost savings, Expense reduction opportunities, new product development and evaluates cost/benefit of operational and equipment changes. Uses extensive financial experience and Business Acumen to collaborate with all departments and all levels of leadership in delivering a full analysis of Financial and Business impacts.
Inventory: Supervise the monthly Inventory close process including valuation, reserves, and proper accounting of material for R & D. Quarterly, lead an effective Excess & Obsolete (E & O) inventory process that identifies specific disposition of all aged and obsolete inventory. The E & O process includes tracking that disposition occurred or was updated timely. Act as financial check on inventory levels versus plan and collaborates to ensure the inventory is financially justified. Annually, oversee the Inventory system test “Audit”. Plan and coordinate the activities of Operations, Finance, Accounting staffs, and External Auditors in advance.
Development of staff: Supports and coaches’ staff in all aspects of their professional development. Cross Training within FPA and with accounting staff. Continuously engages the team as individuals and as a group in opportunities to broaden their abilities and skills.
