Investment Analyst/VP, Finance
Chatham, NJ (on site role)
Compensation: $150-250k doe plus bonus
Requires: 7-plus years experience in ultra-high net worth investment environment (SFO, MFO, RIA, or wealth management) and knowledge of public equity investments, direct portfolio management for long-term growth (no manager allocation); investment research & fundamental analysis, financial modeling, tax and estate planning. Advanced degree or professional certification: MBA, CPA, CFA, CFP. Must live local to Chatham (within 45 minutes commute)
Our client is a well-established Single Family Office (SFO) administering the investments and financial interests of multigenerational family members.
Responsibilities of the Investment Analyst/VP, Finance:
Assist senior executives in management of client portfolios
Track, report, benchmark, and evaluate asset performance
Build and supplement investment procedures to improve efficient management and monitoring of portfolio
Analyze and monitor asset allocation to ensure alignment with portfolio priorities
Generate and maintain list of potential public equity investments through fundamental analysis and financial modeling
Prepare memos, reports, summaries, and visual aids for senior executives and clients
Compile and internally distribute summaries of relevant market news and projections
Identify investment themes or market changes as potential opportunity or risk
Speak with and advise ultra-high-net-worth clients (family members)
Assist internal tracking, reporting, benchmarking and evaluation of client investment portfolios
Supplement portfolio management and trade settlement function as needed.
Assist with individual and trust investment policies, objects and priorities
Assist internal and external professionals with strategic tax and estate planning and compliance
Help internal prep and review of individual and trust federal and state income and gift tax returns
Assist with tax and financial projections and related planning
Qualifications of the Investment Analyst/VP, Finance:
Professional certification or degree (CPA, MBA, CFA, CFP) preferred
7-plus years as an investment analyst with a Single Family Office (SFO), Multi-Family Office (MFO), Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) or wealth management firm that caters to ultra-high-net-worth individuals
Strong understanding of public equity investments required; buy and hold investment philosophy/income-focused portfolio with long-term growth; some private equity experience (M&A is a plus).
Strong quantitative and qualitative research and analysis skills, including financial modeling and fundamental analysis abilities.
In-depth understanding of investment and financial reporting
Proficient in portfolio, financial, and investment performance software (BNA Tax Planner, Portfolio Center-Tamarac a plus)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (Accounting CS is a plus)
Experience wearing many hats and comfortable working within a small office that values collaboration, a proactive and positive demeanor
Experience working with high-net-worth clients and trust tax returns, estate planning a plus
