We are looking for a reliable and dedicated dispatcher to oversee updates and freight movement operations at our freight forwarding logistics company. You will be a part of a team that updates all daily in transit loads within the company, giving timely updates and concerns for any immediate necessary fixes to our account managers and operation team.
Position Overview: As a Dispatcher at our logistics brokerage firm, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of freight and ensuring timely delivery for our clients. You will work closely with carriers and drivers to schedule and monitor shipments, resolve issues that arise during transportation, and maintain clear communication channels throughout the logistics process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Route Planning and Coordination:
- Efficiently plan and coordinate transportation routes for shipments to maximize delivery efficiency and minimize costs.
- Utilize software systems and tools to optimize routing and scheduling of shipments.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Act as the primary point of contact for carriers and drivers, providing clear instructions and updates on shipment details.
- Communicate proactively with customers to provide status updates and address any concerns or issues related to shipments.
- Problem Solving and Issue Resolution:
- Monitor shipments in real-time to identify and resolve any issues or delays that may occur during transportation.
- Collaborate with carriers, drivers, and other stakeholders to quickly resolve logistical challenges and ensure on-time delivery.
- Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of shipment details, including tracking information, delivery times, and any incidents or exceptions.
- Ensure all necessary documentation, such as bills of lading and proof of delivery, are properly completed and filed.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to transportation and logistics operations.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and best practices among carriers and drivers to maintain a safe working environment.
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and requests from clients regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and other logistics-related matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
