A local Baton Rouge Company is seeking a full-time controller who is motivated and seeks a challenging position. Experience with general ledger accounting, accounting software, and general clerical duties are required. Regular attendance, punctuality, and professional/personable attitude are required. Accounting degree preferred, though experience will be considered. Construction accounting experience is a plus.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
- Maintain progress of all jobs and pay vendors as scheduled
- Prepare journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes
- Prepare monthly financial statements by gathering and analyzing information
- Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conducting internal audits
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Meet processing and reporting deadlines
- Respond to information requests and reviewing financial statements,
- Maintain current insurance policies
- Process payroll
- Maintain all Human Resource documents and procedures
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
