Saunders is looking for an experienced truck driver, mechanically inclined, who wants to learn more about the electrical trade and monitor portable power feeds in the live broadcast entertainment industry. This person will be responsible for loading the gear, driving it to the job site, unloading & connecting the electrical gear, and monitoring the operation during the live broadcast. Drivers are on the road anywhere from 2-3 day weekend travel up to 14 weeks at a time. Responsibilities:
Driver / Loading / Shop Time Responsibilities:
· Full understanding of, and compliance with all current CDL laws and requirements.
· Submit to random DOT drug testing
· Ensuring vehicles are current on service intervals
· Ensure materials are available for date of shipment, prepping and packaging for date of delivery
· Properly and safely secure all loads in or on the vehicle to spec prior to departure
· Responsible for various inspections, reporting, manual and electronic driver logs, and timekeeping systems
· Shop time must be utilized to its full potential, loading and unloading trucks, providing maintenance to equipment, maintaining shop projects, assisting the shop supervisor and meeting any other need that arises
Generator Operator Responsibilities:
· Understanding of general setup, and operation for all Saunders Electric generators, sync and UPS systems
· Entirely responsible for installation, setup, maintenance, and extraction of all needed electrical distribution systems for various live events
· Work with various personnel to coordinate fuel deliveries, service and maintenance of generators prior to departure, and at job site
· Test, diagnose and adjust equipment failures
· Communicate with various office personnel to report and troubleshoot all potential performance issues
· Perform minor repairs in the field per instruction from office personnel
· Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clientele
· Communicate effectively with the on-site technical supervisors
· Maintain all equipment log sheets to company standards, and manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers where required
· Tracking and logging all expenses on company expense report forms
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Knowledge of generators and diesel engines, preferable
· Ability to interact professionally and positively with customers and co-workers at all times, including when under pressure
· Must be energetic, enthusiastic and customer service driven
· CDL License with clean MVR required; Compliant with all Federal DOT CDL licensure requirements.
· Available to work prolonged hours, ability to be on the road for extended periods of time.
· Able to travel via commercial airline when required
· Able to pass criminal background check, drug screen and safety verifications per DOT requirements
