JOB TITLE: Truckdriver, Tractor-Trailer
JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is assigned to the Supply & Services Division and Division (MDRS) and works under the general supervision and guidance of the MDRS Manager, ISSA Supervisor, and Supply & Services Division Manager. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of driving duties that support transportation operations tied to Military Logistic Support services throughout Oahu and Hawai’i island.
The Motor Vehicle Operator (MVO) will be a dedicated professional with a good work ethic. MVO will operate gasoline and diesel-powered trucks/tractors with manual transmission and material handling equipment (MHE) of various sizes to load/transport/unload cargo and equipment. MVO will utilize flat-bed and various types of lowboy trailers coupled by use of a turntable (fifth wheel) or pivotal hook to transport articles and materials ensuring loads are properly secured prior to departing pick-up locations. The normal work week is Monday thru Friday; the normal work day begins at 7:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Overtime work outside of normal business hours or on weekends may be required to meet mission requirements and surge/contingency operations.
Essential job duties include:
· Operating a variety of equipment including tactical vehicles as scheduled/assigned
· Operating MHE with the capacities varying from 2,000 - 70,000 lbs. in order to load, unload, transfer, stack or unstack cargo, equipment, hazardous and non-hazardous materials and supplies
· Performing pre-work assessments of work areas and pre-trip inspections on equipment before use
· Overseeing proper loading and unloading of cargo/equipment onto/off of trailers
· Ensuring cargo/equipment is secure and protected from inclement weather, pilferage and damage prior to transport
· Transporting cargo/equipment to various locations such as DLA-DS, JBPHH, container yard, etc.
· Being knowledgeable of Federal & State transportation regulations and pre/post trip inspection requirements
· Performing equipment, warehouse and container yard maintenance as required
· Following verbal/written instructions as provided by the management team and outlined on the mission schedule
· Completing necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
· Enforcing safety rules and regulations while performing job functions
Additional duties may include:
- Cross utilization in other job duties such as but not limited to safety, security and environmental
- Cross utilization in other divisions (Transportation, Munitions) during surge/contingency operations
- Travel to Hawai’I island during surge/contingency operations
- Housekeeping of office areas, warehouse, and container yard
- Overtime work as required
- Other duties as deemed necessary
Work Conditions:
Work is typically performed outdoors while being exposed to different temperatures and weather conditions including rain, wind, thunder, lightning, and sunshine. Work will require exertion of moderate to heavy physical effort, and will include driving, sitting, leaning, walking, reaching, climbing, and lifting from 1-75 lbs.
Requirements:
· US citizenship
· Valid state driver’s license
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
· Current CDL A
· Current X (HAZMAT) endorsement
o Employment contingent on getting the endorsement within 90 days of hire and maintaining the endorsement
· Current Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
o Employment contingent on getting the endorsement within 90 days of hire and maintaining the endorsement
· Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card
**Employment is contingent on operator providing proof of and maintaining the endorsements/certifications listed above**
· Ability to obtain favorable clearance to haul Arms, Ammunition & Explosives (AA&E) for installation activities via the Personnel Reliability Screening and Evaluation DA Form 7708

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.19 per hour
