The Lead Trainer will be the trainer team lead for the Carlsbad studio, responsible for building and maintaining a strong rapport among the trainer team, members, and operations team to ensure a thriving studio business. After successfully completing the 100-hour immersive training program, the lead trainer will assist the corporate training team to ensure that all aspects of the class experience are thriving at their local studio and will engage each individual trainer with personalized learning and development strategies to keep them thriving. The lead trainer will lead efforts to recruit, train, and develop new trainers and execute all training of new trainer hires after studio launch. The lead trainer will be the point-person for questions and concerns among their team. The lead trainer will organize trainer meetings and serve as a liaison to corporate to ensure that trainers are delivering effective, energizing and creative classes in line with the Pvolve Method. They will collaborate with the Studio Operations team on trainer utilization and retention metrics to sustain the company growth plan. They will also lead initiatives to build a strong member community and host community events. They will lead by example, continuing to set the bar for an outstanding class experience and engage in marketing, press, influencer, and general PR opportunities to grow brand presence.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Maintain 10 - 13 teaching hours per week
- Serve as advisor/mentor for the team
- Execute the training process from recruiting through ongoing development after studio launch
- Ongoing development of studio trainer team by taking classes and giving feedback to ensure each trainers continued growth.
- Execute ongoing training modules for trainer development as directed by corporate
- Serve as an expert on sequencing, client connection, alignment, motivation, music, vocals and social media to embody and model the Pvolve class experience
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure studios are meeting their projected utilization and conversion goals. Serve as the liaison between talent and operations, including but not limited to advising on member concerns, sound, equipment rotation, strategic schedule optimization, promotional opportunities, community, etc.
- Collaborate with operations team to grow and retain studio memberships through sales initiatives and ensure trainers are doing their part both pre and post class to drive memberships
- Collaborate with operations team on community events to foster a strong, thriving studio community
- Work cross-functionally with marketing on any press, influencer, partnership needs to grow the brand locally
- Grow studio social channels in partnership with Social Media Manager/ Studio Manager
- Execute bi-weekly trainer meetings
- Remain current in the fitness world, keeping informed of competitive offerings and opportunities for improvement, to ensure market share
- Participate in outside continued education to keep personal skill level and certifications up to date, as applicable and advised by corporate
Requirements:
- 3+ years of group fitness teaching experience with a strong performance record
- Teacher training and management experience with a strong performance record preferred
- Experience coaching the ongoing development of trainer teams to employ best practices to maintain brand consistency and operational scalability
- Experience leading successful teacher trainings to ensure high-quality standards
- A rich understanding of safe exercise practices; anatomy, alignment, physiology, and proper movement execution
- Must exemplify core values and act as a leader within the organization
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Excellent business acumen with an ability to be both strategic and hands-on with staff
- Possesses a big picture focus while implementing detailed, systematic work to drive results
- Current trainer certification recommended from select accredited certifying bodies, with preference for one of the following NASM, ACE, or AFAA • Bachelor’s degree in an exercise related field a plus
