Job Summary for Direct Support Profession caregiver:
Join our team! Direct Support Professionals provide an essential service to families and is highly rewarding! This care giving position is ideal for a person who enjoys working with children. We seek candidates who are interested in helping children with disabilities after school, evenings, and/or weekends. Assisting with activities of daily living, doing community outings, and assisting with homework are some examples of necessary activities.
General:
Direct Support Professionals work 1 to 1 with children and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities in their home. They provide safe and essential care giving including routine activities of daily living, safe & engaging community outings, after school care, and more.
This is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in a non-profit organization for those going into the teaching field, special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or medical industry.
If you have been a caregiver, PCA or have had similar experience and are ready to use your skills in a more dynamic environment, this position may be just for you.
Wage: $17.00 per hour

Shift Description:
- The Direct Support Professional caregiver position is offering up to a potential of 40 hours per week ranging between Monday and Sunday.
- Shift times: Daytime and/or evening
- Reports to: Direct Support Professional Program Director
Responsibilities / Assist Clients with:
- Help clients reach their individualized goals, help to promote communication skills, and increase socialization opportunities
- Assist with personal hygiene needs and dressing
- Prepare meals and snacks and feeding
- Dispense medication
- Complete daily charting.
- Provide supervision and transportation to community activities.
- Assist with errands and shopping
- Light housekeeping activities
Qualifications
- Experience working with adults with challenging behaviors, with intellectual and/ or physical disabilities and Autism preferred.
- Ability to adhere to all company health and safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal spills
- Walk/Stand --Drive up to 2 hours--Bend/Stoop--Balance -Lift, carry, transfer up to
- Knowledge of first aid and/ or CPR training preferred
- High school diploma
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record- Must provide a current copy of your driving record
- Willing to drive personal vehicle to and from clients home and community outings
- Compassionate, respectful, ethical and highly reliable
