The Resources Business Group (RBG) is looking for an experienced marketer and business development professional to lead teams across our Industrial, Power and Waste market sectors to develop thoughtful strategies that enhance our market position and ultimately win work. Reporting to the RBG Marketing Communications Director, the RBG Major Campaigns and Pursuit Strategist will play a critical role in helping us meet growth goals outlined in our strategic plan by partnering closely with the business group’s leadership, marketing, business development and communications teams.
Specific Responsibilities
- Facilitate the development, rollout, and execution of the RBG’s approach to major campaigns and pursuits in close partnership with the RBG Marketing Communications Director, Business Development Directors, and Marketing Manager.
- Work collaboratively with business development and market sector leaders to identify, prioritize, and successfully position for strategic project opportunities across the Industrial, Power and Waste market sectors.
- Lead select major campaigns and pursuits for the RBG.
- Plan and facilitate strategy sessions, leading teams to develop winning strategies and compelling messages for proposals, collateral, and digital media platforms.
- Bring outstanding creative, organizational, and interpersonal skills to lead diverse teams through challenging requirements and overlapping schedules throughout the proposal development process.
- Coach teams in preparation for client interviews and presentations, both for team dynamics and individual presentation skills development.
- Organize and facilitate client debriefs for proposals won and lost.
- Actively participate in internal leadership and networking meetings to expand and deepen working partnerships with market sector and area leaders within the organization.
- Provide leadership and overall management of strategic campaigns and proposal efforts for strategic pursuits; translate business development, win strategy concepts and client insights into proposal strategy and tactical pursuit capture plan for the RBG.
- Partner closely with the RBG marketing and communications teams to develop and execute cross-platform campaigns with custom content and compelling stories that elevate HDR’s brand.
- Direct interaction and relationship development with clients, in support of identifying and securing major campaigns and pursuits.
- Attend industry conferences to develop and nurture client and strategic partner relationships, as needed.
- Employ and improve HDR’s marketing-related tools and resources.
- Partner with HDR’s corporate Strategic Pursuits team as an RBG representative.
- Ensure quality, budget, and schedule performance of pursuit efforts.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM related field or Marketing/Communications-related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in consulting industry business development.
- Demonstrated experience successfully leading large pursuit teams.
- Proven history of winning large, complex projects in the A/E/C industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works cooperatively with diverse teams on proposals, including technical and marketing staff.
- Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
Required Qualifications

A minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

Demonstrated �self-starter� with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
- Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
- Maintain a professional or engineering registration or certificate or have related technical experience
- Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person
- Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
