L'Artusi is hiring a Lead Pastry Cook to work with our Exec Pastry Chef. The pastry team at L'Artusi oversees the dessert programs in addition to the pastry & dessert program at our new sister location b'artusi and Via Porta located right down the street as well as our events space, L'Artusi Supper Club, on Christopher St.
The Lead Pastry Cook will assist in duties including, but not limited to:

Assisting the pastry line for service, sometimes working line shifts as needed

Leading production needs on the Pastry Chef's day off, including production management, team member training, and some light ordering duties
Ensuring cleanliness and department sanitation standards - - Food Handler certified a plus

Baking pastries for our sister restaurant, Via Porta. Flexible hours with weekend availability are helpful in this position.
If you are looking to make a transition from line cooking to more management experience, this is the position for you. We are seeking individuals who:

Lead with patience and understand the unique staffing dynamics in a post-COVID restaurant environment.

Love pastry and may be strong with, or interested in learning more about fine dining dessert techniques and bakery lamination.

Have some competency in Spanish.
