Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accounting Reporting Analyst to join our team. The Senior Accounting Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in financial and operational reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives by developing, maintaining, and enhancing reports to support decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, data analysis, with expertise in reporting tools and methodologies, data visualization tools, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
This is an in-office role based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Lead the preparation of internal/external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842), ensuring compliance and incorporating changes into financial reporting processes.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing support and documentation as needed.
2. Financial Analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and information necessary for financial reporting and analysis.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with finance leadership to develop and communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with department heads to assist with the annual budgeting process.
- Monitor cash flow and budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Develop and maintain complex financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), financial trends, and variances.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into meaningful metrics and KPIs.
4. Automation and Dashboards
- Design and build interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Automate report generation processes and ensure data integrity and accuracy through regular quality assurance checks.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data sources, reporting tools, and best practices, providing guidance and support to junior analysts.
- Assist in the implementation and enhancement of financial reporting systems and processes, driving efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide technical guidance and training to corporate and subsidiary team members and on financial reporting standards, tools, and best practices.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in reporting and data visualization, continuously improving reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.
- Relevant experience (4+ years) in accounting and finance roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial/supervision role. Big 4 accounting firm experience highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in financial reporting tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) and advanced Excel skills. OneStream and Epicor experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead process improvement initiatives and drive change.
