Our client, a well known national company, is seeking an Interim Senior Lead Engineering (Civil) Consultant for a 18-24 month+ project. The ideal candidate must have been a part of 1-2 large PE NEPA infrastructure projects from beginning to end.
This position has responsibility for being an engineering liaison between the internal project team stakeholders (Director and Program Manager), Engineering Services, and the outside consulting firms. This includes but is not limited to the review and possible preparation of; technical drawings and designs, civil engineering and track design documents (including plans, specifications, quantities and design calculations) following and confirming NEPA requirements.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Provide technical guidance to internal team leaders
- Coordinate planning, design, and engineering efforts on rail infrastructure projects.
- Assist internal project team in the development and continuous improvement of work methods and procedures that increase efficiency and drive improvement in the safety and reliability of the infrastructure.
- Review and provide guidance that all aspects of the work meet or exceed current client standards and comply with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards; discuss and evaluate possible design variances with our clients Engineering Services
- Provide design direction for all structural and track design facets of railroad design projects and pursuits.
- Consult with our clients Engineering Services re potential QA/QC of project work to ensure product follows all client-mandated requirements and provides a safe and dependable environment for all train operations
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, required
- Experience with Microstation and Bluebeam preferred
- Familiarity with AutoCAD desirable
- 5 to 10 + years of experience; preferably in rail infrastructure maintenance and/or construction, including experience in design
- Experience with large infrastructure projects
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Demonstrated communications skills, both verbal and written. This includes the ability to explain design concepts and principles
- Ability to work well in cooperative, team environments
