As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) within PrimeCare Pediatrics of Southeastern Ohio, Inc., you will be responsible for providing exceptional, compassionate pediatric care to patients from infancy to young adulthood. You will join a collegial group of five physicians who form the cornerstone of premiere pediatric care in Southeastern Ohio. Our well-established group has set the standard for providing outstanding pediatric care over the last 40 years. Our past and present pediatric providers have served as pediatric hospitalists and clinical educators, as well as serving on various hospital committees and as community board members. In addition to holding roles ranging from the Chief of Inpatient Pediatrics to the President of the Ohio Chapter of the AAP, and the Chief of Pediatric Graduate Medical Education, just to name a few. We are passionate about pediatric education and are active in teaching and mentoring medical students/residents and Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant students, which we believe enables us to better communicate with and educate our patients and families. Your role will be multifaceted, blending clinical expertise with a passion for education and advocacy to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young patients.
· Utilize specialized knowledge and clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage a variety of pediatric health concerns, including common childhood illnesses, developmental disorders, and chronic conditions.
· Develop individualized treatment plans that address the unique needs and developmental stages of pediatric patients, incorporating evidence-based guidelines and family-centered care principles.
· Provide guidance and education to patients and their families on healthy lifestyle habits, including nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, and injury prevention, to promote overall well-being and prevent illness.
· Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, imaging studies, and developmental screenings, to aid in accurate diagnosis and monitoring of pediatric health conditions.
· Offer emotional support, counseling, and guidance to pediatric patients and their families, addressing concerns, providing coping strategies, and facilitating communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
· Prescribe medications as appropriate for the treatment of pediatric health conditions, following evidence-based guidelines, medication safety protocols, and state regulations governing pediatric prescribing practices.
· Perform comprehensive physical assessments of pediatric patients, including growth and development assessments, to identify potential health issues, monitor growth trends, and provide early intervention as needed.
· Coordinate and manage the overall care of pediatric patients, collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, specialists, and community resources to ensure comprehensive and integrated care delivery.
· Educate pediatric patients and their families on preventive healthcare measures, such as immunizations, well-child visits, and screenings, as well as strategies for managing chronic conditions and promoting long-term health and wellness.
Position requirements:
· Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution
· Current Ohio R.N. license
· Current Ohio PNP certificate
· Current CPR certificate
· DEA required for prescribing and dispensing
· Clinical training in pediatric medicine
· Minimum of 3 years' experience as a NP in a pediatric setting
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Proficient computer skills. Knowledge of Epic system is a plus
· Comply with all medical laws and HIPAA standards
