Responsibilities:
- Assessing the counseling needs of the clients.
- Participate as a team member in all treatment team meetings and provides input regarding patients’ needs and requirements.
- Assessing clients using the ASI or other standardized clinical interview tools, and diagnosing clients for substance abuse disorder using the DSM-IV TR.
- Determining the appropriate level of care according to ASAM Patient Placement Criteria
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use issues, as well as any other relevant factors affecting their well-being.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-based interventions and therapeutic modalities to address co-occurring disorders.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions using a client-centered approach to facilitate healing and promote positive behavioral changes.
- Monitor clients' progress throughout the course of treatment, regularly reviewing and adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including psychiatrists, case managers, and support staff, to coordinate care and provide integrated services.
- Offer education and support to clients and their families, helping them understand the nature of co-occurring disorders and empowering them to actively participate in the recovery process.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Stay abreast of developments in the field of co-occurring disorders, participating in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills Obtaining previous records that are relevant to the current treatment episode.
- Reviewing and, where necessary, revising the client treatment plan to address ongoing problems.
- Developing a client discharge/transfer plan to ensure movement to the appropriate levels of care.
- Contact, case consultation if necessary, and coordination with referral sources.
- Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team for assigned clients.
- Provide active case consultation.
- Utilize knowledge and skills to provide group psychotherapy, meeting the patient’s treatment needs and requirements.
- Document in the patient’s chart on a regular basis and complete patient caseload in timely manner.
Skills:
- Strong ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop effective individualized treatment plans for Co-Occurring disorders and substance abuse.
- Proficient in various therapeutic modalities, including individual, group, and family therapy, DBT, CBT, Inner Child Work, Mindfulness, and other useful modalities.
- Experience in providing psychotherapy to individuals who struggle with addiction and mental health treatment.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and ability to incorporate evidence-based practices into therapy sessions
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
- Familiarity and knowledge with ASAM guidelines
- Basic understanding of Utilization Review to ensure documentation meets payor standards for medical necessity.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
