Join the exciting world of automation as an Electrical Technician.
As an Electrical Technician you will be fitting cables, components and units and testing (sub) systems. You will install and verify electric / electronic components and systems according to diagrams on automation machines while working alongside with Mechanical Technicians, PLC and Robot Programmers to ensure machine safety and quality. An Electrical Technician must be able and willing to adapt with regards to the availability of materials, tools, drawings, components, etc.
The following skills and experience are required:
- Associate’s Degree in related field or postsecondary certificate and 2-3 years equivalent experience.
- Availability to work overtime as required, including weekends and holidays
- Availability to support short notice service calls
- Safety considerations for industrial work environments
- Ability to read and interpret EPLAN drawings and schematics for assembly and wiring sequencing
- Understanding of electrical engineering and mechatronics procedures
- Familiarity with various types of processing and assembly sequences
- Experience with installation of electrical systems and subsystems in an industrial context
- Ability to anticipate issues, perform troubleshooting, and make adjustments
- Experience with the testing and verification of electric/electronic industrial equipment
- Familiarity with 480 vac, 120 vac, and 24 vdc elements
- Familiarity with UL and CSA regulations is preferred
- Good understanding of and practice with grounding, including machine grounding, bounding, and isolated grounding
- Able to use hand tools, specialized tools, and measuring equipment
- Able to use auxiliary tools for processing materials
- Experience with assembly and disassembly of machines and machine components
- Able to provide exacting level of accuracy in translating schematics to installation of wiring and components
- Able to lift small parts daily and medium sized parts weighing 20lbs occasionally
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as ability to learn new internal tools
Travel: Willing to travel and work abroad if necessary for approx. 30% of your time.
