Hours: 30-40 hours per week
As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will:
Patient Communication:
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information about our services.
- Schedule patient appointments and follow up with appointment reminders.
Appointment Coordination:
- Coordinate patient schedules with the availability of clinical staff to optimize patient care.
- Manage appointment cancellations, rescheduling, and waitlists as needed.
Patient Registration:
- Accurately collect payments and enter patient demographic and medical information into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and signed by patients.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with administrative tasks, including filing, scanning, and managing patient records.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and phone calls.
Patient Advocacy:
- Advocate for patients' needs within the practice, coordinating with clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction.
Patient Education:
- Educate patients on practice policies, procedures, and what to expect during their visits.
- Provide resources and materials as needed.
- Educate patients about their insurance coverage, including benefits, limitations, and any out-of-pocket expenses.
Job Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service role is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathetic and patient-centered approach to customer service.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion and confidentiality.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of similar experience preferred
