JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Elections Information Systems Integrations Security Specialist provides assistance and support to the Voter Registration System Administrator and the broader Elections Division by coordinating with vendors to establish, enhance, and maintain integrations between Georgia’s Voter Registration & Election Planning System, GARViS, with other systems. The Elections Information Systems Integrations Security Specialist is also responsible for assessing and managing cybersecurity risks within the Elections Systems.
This position will also support the Voter Registration System Administrator to review system data in order to ensure accuracy in context of system enhancements and issues, resulting in critical feedback being shared both internally and with software vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Involved in integrations assessment and maintenance of current integrations, which includes testing, documentation, and implementation
- Acts as point-of-contact for integrations vendors regarding Elections Information Systems
- Performs limited project duties and other responsibilities as assigned to support the Elections Information Systems & Database Manager in the context of integrations, system data review, and cybersecurity
- Direct the continual upgrading of integrations and cybersecurity measures to maintain technological and business relevance
- Liaise with other Elections Division team members and senior leaders to coordinate business needs and collaboratively design solutions to complex project issues related to integrations and system security
- Responsible for application and technical support of EBD (Electronic Ballot Delivery) tool(s), Ballot Tracking Tool(s), and Electronic Poll Book tool(s)
o Actively tests systems to identify errors or defects with integrations
o Work with Voter Registration System Administrator and Vendors to remedy defects and issues with said integrations
- Compiles and writes documentation of technical details related to integrations and subsequent revisions to such integrations
- Compiles and writes documentation of cybersecurity responses and improvements made
- Search for security vulnerabilities in the Elections Information Systems
- Actively tests systems to identify cybersecurity risks
- Assists in documenting ongoing issues with the system integrations as reported by state and county end users
- Actively learns about the Elections Information Systems architecture and logic
- Reviews isolated data within the Elections Information System to provide feedback on data integrity and accuracy
- Make recommendations regarding practices and protocols in order to better reduce risk of cybersecurity threats
- Develop security measures to safeguard Elections Information Systems and protect against attacks and threats
- Implement procedures to ensure security standards are met and adhered to
- Utilizes good written and interpersonal communication skills
- Performs other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Strong understanding of technical language. Experience with Elections and Voter Registration Systems is required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited college or university in computer science or a related field or an associate’s degree in a technical curriculum with at least 3 years of recent relevant experience in an IT or application support role.
Bachelors Degree *and* One (1) year of work related experience OR Associates Degree in Business Administrative Technology *and* Two (2) years of related work experience Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
