Specific Responsibilities
The EH&S Specialist Sr - Environmental Policy for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s EH&S team at the company’s Houston, TX office reporting to the EH&S Manager - Environmental.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Deep understanding of federal, state and local legislative procedures and protocols
Capable of analyzing new and existing environmental regulations to identify potential impacts to the company
Engaged with industry organizations such as API, AXPC, TXOGA, and PBPA to review rulemaking and develop company responses
Partner with internal operations to gain understanding of concerns with new regulatory policies
Monitor and implement industry best practices into company standards
Work with key multifunctional stakeholders within the organization to mitigate impacts of regulatory changes
Tracks, interprets and documents laws or regulations impacting the business
Build and maintain relationships with the community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders
Experienced with executing current policies in the oil and gas industry such as OOOOb/c, GHG Subpart W, BLM, ESA, CAA, CWA, Ozone Precursor etc.
Develop and implement training to relevant stakeholders
Develop presentations and materials to communicate new policies to senior personnel
Effectively communicate across a broad spectrum of functions and levels of leadership Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelors degree required
6+ years of experience
Able to prioritize work tasking;
Strong communication skills with others;
Able to collaborate across functional peer group;
Proficient knowledge of Spotfire, MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word;
System analytics reporting experience.
