Overview: The Employee Health Nurse/Infection Prevention plays a critical role in maintaining a healthy and safe working environment for all hospital staff. This position involves managing the health of employees, focusing on prevention, treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses, and supporting the hospital's infection prevention initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-employment health screenings and periodic health evaluations for existing staff.
- Administer immunizations and manage vaccination records to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Evaluate and treat work-related injuries and illnesses and coordinate appropriate follow-up care.
- Collaborate with the Infection Prevention department to implement strategies that minimize infection risks among staff.
- Conduct risk assessments and exposure investigations, and provide appropriate follow-up actions including counseling and education.
- Develop and deliver training programs on occupational health and safety, infection control practices, and wellness initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee health records.
- Participate in developing policies and procedures to enhance employee health and safety.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse or LVN with active state license
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in nursing, with at least 1 year in an occupational health or infection control role preferred.
- Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or Infection Control (CIC) is highly desired.
- Knowledge of occupational health regulations and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and the capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
